OutreachPortal

An impact tracker for robotics teams and the organisations behind them.

Details

Members log the outreach they do, from events and mentoring to volunteering and donations, and attach the evidence. The portal reads the log back against the season's goals and the award criteria, so writing an award submission is a matter of reading the record rather than remembering the year.

  • One log for events, mentoring, volunteering and more
  • Evidence library and the teams you have helped
  • Season goals, award criteria and risks in one place
  • Free Starter plan for any team

TreadPathing

Path planning for FIRST Tech Challenge tank-drive robots.

Details

TreadPathing plans and follows driving routes for FIRST Tech Challenge robots with tank drives. Teams lay out a route in the visualizer, see how fast the robot can safely take each curve, and export it as code. It is plain Java that pastes straight into the OnBotJava editor, so no Android Studio is needed, and teams still learning Java can build routes in Blocks.

  • Plan and preview routes in the visualizer
  • Runs in OnBotJava, with no Android Studio needed
  • Build autonomous routines in Java or Blocks
  • Free and open source

Stop Motion Editor

A complete stop motion studio in your web browser.

Details

Capture frames from a webcam, with onion skinning to line up each shot, and build your animation on a timeline. Add green-screen backgrounds, sound effects, your own voice, text, stickers and transitions, then export a movie or share it with a link. Teachers and parents can set up accounts for a class or family and help with their animations.

  • Webcam capture with onion skinning
  • Green screen, sound, text, stickers and transitions
  • Export a movie or share it with a link
  • Accounts for classrooms, schools and families

FLL Remote Timer

A networked match timer for FIRST LEGO League events.

Details

One computer at the venue runs the clock, while phones and laptops control it and the venue screen and stream overlay follow it in sync. It has the familiar 2:30 match, start sound, 30-second warning and buzzer, and keeps counting if the Wi-Fi drops mid-match.

  • Control from any phone or laptop
  • Synced venue display and stream overlay
  • Optional PIN so only the head ref can start it
  • Runs on the venue's own network, with no internet needed

About BotBuilders Robotics

BotBuilders Robotics is a not-for-profit, community-based robotics team in North Brisbane. Mentors help students design, build and program robots for FIRST competitions.

The apps on this site come from the same place: students who want to solve a real problem for their team or community, and who see it through from idea to finished product.
